Sometimes the Last Big Trip Becomes the Most Important One
This one has been on my heart lately.
I’m currently helping a client plan a trip to Hawaii.
And while we’re talking about flights, hotels, and excursions… that’s not really what this trip is about.
For her and her husband, this feels like their “last big trip.”
When she said that, I think we both understood there was a lot more behind those words.
Because sometimes travel isn’t about checking destinations off a list.
Sometimes it’s about making sure you still take the trip.

The problem isn’t usually deciding where to go
It’s deciding whether now is the right time.
I hear it all the time.
Maybe next year.
Maybe when things settle down.
Maybe when life isn’t so busy.
Maybe when we’re feeling a little younger.
And before you know it, years have gone by.
The trips people remember most aren’t always the biggest ones
They’re the ones that happen at the right time.
The sunset you watched together.
The excursion you almost skipped but ended up loving.
The photos that become family treasures.
The stories that get told over and over again.
Those are the things people carry home.

This is why I approach travel differently
Of course I help with logistics.
But I’m also listening for what’s important.
Why this trip matters.
What memories you’re hoping to make.
What would make you come home feeling grateful you went.
Because those answers help shape everything else.
The cost of waiting isn’t always financial
Sometimes the bigger risk is assuming there will always be another opportunity.
Another year.
Another season.
Another chance.
And sometimes there is.
But sometimes there isn’t.

If there’s a trip you’ve been talking about for years…
Maybe it’s time to have the conversation.
Not because everything has to be booked tomorrow.
But because some trips deserve more than “someday.”
Happy to help you map it out.
Because the best souvenir isn’t something you buy.
It’s knowing you went.
