10 Travel Resolutions for 2026 (That Actually Feel Doable)
A new year always brings a fresh start, and when it comes to travel, it’s the perfect time to think about how you want to use your time, your vacation days, and your energy. These aren’t resolutions meant to add pressure. They’re meant to make travel feel easier, more meaningful, and a whole lot more fun.
Here are ten travel resolutions I love sharing with my clients as we look ahead to 2026.

1. Plan Earlier Than You Think You Need To
Planning ahead doesn’t mean locking everything in right away. It simply gives you options. Better cabins, better itineraries, and more flexibility usually show up when you start the conversation early.
2. Use All Your Vacation Time
You earned it. Those days are meant to be enjoyed, not saved forever. Even short trips can create memories that last far longer than the time away.
3. Go Somewhere New, Even If It’s Close to Home
New doesn’t have to mean far. A destination you’ve never visited, a different cruise itinerary, or even a new departure port can make travel feel fresh again.

4. Put One Trip on the Calendar
Just one. Having something planned gives you something to look forward to, especially during busy seasons of life. It doesn’t have to be extravagant. It just has to matter to you.
5. Travel With the People Who Make It Fun
Some trips are all about the destination. Others are all about who you’re sharing it with. Friends, family, or both, those shared moments are often the ones you talk about the longest.

6. Say Yes to Cruising If You Haven’t Tried It
Cruising isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s not what many people imagine. With the right ship and itinerary, it can be one of the easiest, most relaxing ways to travel.
7. Think About How You Want the Trip to Feel
Relaxing, adventurous, easy, celebratory. When you start with how you want the trip to feel, the destination and details tend to fall into place more naturally.
8. Celebrate Something With a Trip
A birthday, anniversary, graduation, or simply getting through a tough season. Travel has a way of making milestones even more memorable.

9. Ask for Help Instead of Doing It All Yourself
You don’t have to sort through every option alone. Talking things through with someone who knows the ins and outs can save time, stress, and a lot of second-guessing.
10. Take the Trip You’ve Been Putting Off
If you’ve been saying “someday” for a while, 2026 might be the year to move it from someday to scheduled. The right timing often starts with a simple conversation.

Travel doesn’t have to be complicated to be meaningful. A little intention, a little planning, and a willingness to say yes can turn 2026 into a year full of memories you’ll be glad you made.
If you’re starting to think about travel for 2026, I’m always happy to talk through ideas and help you figure out what makes sense for you.
